Estas muñecas que el lector ve son una mirada intima al corazón de los mexicanos a través de la cartonería popular

Las muñecas y los alumnos del taller de lupitas en la Casa Jaime Sabines del 5 al 26 de Octubre de 2010.

En este taller paso algo mágico, creo que todos nos identificamos con el hecho de crear una personita, una muñeca, una representación de lo femenino y regresar a la época de cuando jugamos con muñecas.   

Los alumnos dibujaron, esculpieron, pintaron y dieron forma a su muñeca ideal a la de sus sueños de la infancia. 

El primer día que conocí a los alumnos que iban a tomar este taller no imagine que juntos emprenderíamos un viaje tan introspectivo.   Ese día cada uno hablo de lo que los había impulsado a  tomar este taller, algunos mencionaron que estas muñecas “ya nadie las vende” otros que “ya nadie las hacía”  o que siempre quisieron una, alguien solo quería una muñeca hecha con sus manos, otros regalarlas y otros más también algún día enseñar a hacerlas….

Las “lupitas” son un icono de las muñecas de cartón en México. Llegaron como una tradición europea, se mexicanizaron y se quedaron en lo más profundo de nuestros recuerdos, en los días de carnaval cuando esta muñeca con peinado y escandaloso traje de baño a la moda de 1920 era vendida junto con los diablitos y los mamertos (versión masculina con traje y corbata) a las gentes en las plazas de los mercados.
Y la Lupita llegaba a casa
Lupita llegaba las casas durante el carnaval y adornaba las vitrinas, las mesas de centro o el cuarto de la niña que esperaba este momento –o el día de reyes- para tener una nueva muñeca de cartón pues la del año pasado probablemente se mojo y se hecho a perder o por tanto jugar con ella se maltrato, se raspo y alguien la tiro…
Recuperemos la tradición de la  muñeca de cartón que cada año vuelve para ser eterna a pesar del plástico

This day each one I speak what had stimulated them to take this one Workshop, some mentioned that these wrists " already nobody them sells " others that " already nobody them was doing " or that always wanted one, alone someone wanted a wrist done with his hands, others to give them and others more also some day to teach to doing them ….

The "lupitas" are an icon of the wrists of carton in Mexico. They came as an European tradition, mexicanizaron and they remained in the deepest of our recollections, in the carnival days when this wrist with hairdo and scandalous tChatter of bath to the mode of 1920 it was sold together with the diablitos and the mamertos (masculine version with suit and tie) to the peoples in the squares of the markets.
And the Lupita was coming to house
Lupita was coming the houses during the carnival and was adorning the showcases, the coffee tables or the quarter of the girl who was waiting for this moment - or the day of kings - to have a new wrist of carton since that of last year probably I wet and done to losing or therefore to play with her I ill-treat, I am rough and throw someone …
